Fire Safety & Services

Stay Safe on Halloween!

  • If you are out driving, stay alert! Put the cell phone away and the radio off - there are lots of distractions and lots of people.
  • If you are out walking, stay visible! And help kids do the same. Glow sticks, flashlights, reflective tape - all essential items on Halloween night.
  • Make sure costumes don't have trailing fabrics that could catch fire from lit jack-o-lanterns.
  • Make sure masks and face coverings have large sight holes, even for peripheral vision.

Did you know...?
Smoke alarms have an expiration date.

Next time you do your monthly battery check, take an extra moment to flip the alarm over. If it is approaching the 10 year mark since the manufacturer date (or past it!), it is time to get a new smoke alarm.

    Give 'em a Glow!

Kids are more than 2x likely to get struck and killed by a vehicle on Halloween than any other day of the year. Make sure your kids are seen this Halloween. Reflective tape, light colored costumes, flashlights, glow sticks - these are essential! Click Here for More Halloween Safety Reminders
