Renewable energy is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint, but it’s not the only way. We are also offering you free, energy-saving tips, so you can reduce your carbon footprint even if your household isn’t ready to sign up for renewable energy right now.
How to Participate
1. Subscribe to Windsource®.....
Choose to source up to 100% of your home’s monthly electricity use from locally produced wind energy with Xcel Energy’s Windsource program. The cost ranges from $1 to $10 per month, depending on subscription amount and your home’s electricity use. Homeowners and renters alike can participate.
There are many no-cost ways to reduce your household’s energy consumption — and therefore your carbon footprint. Reducing your household’s energy use can save money and is a great first step to take before investing in renewable energy. Try these energy-saving tips from Xcel Energy to enter the challenge and save.
2. Let us know how you participated in the challenge
Complete the form to let us know that you participated in the Wind Up! challenge. Registering lets us know that you support renewable energy and helps us inspire your neighbors to support renewable energy, too.
3. Get recognized
Participants who register will be recognized on the website as a “Fridley Renewable Energy Supporter”. You can also enter the challenge and remain anonymous. Note, you must sign up for the Windsource program through Xcel Energy directly, registering for the challenge does not enroll you in the Windsource program.
