Events

A variety of special events are held each year throughout the city, including the Civic Campus and Springbrook Nature Center. Search through the seasons to see what events are scheduled.

Most events are free, but a few of the events require a ticket to entry.

Typical events include Winterfest, Pumpkin Night in the Park, Environmental Fun Fair, '49er Days, a summer concert series and more.

Spring

These events typically take place from March - May each year.

Environmental Fun Fair

Saturday, May 17, 2025 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. | Springbrook Nature Center | FREE

A variety of outdoor and environmental exhibitors will be present to help us appreciate our wonderful natural world. This FREE event will include: Event Passport and Prizes, Environmental and Educational Exhibitors and FREE Pop-Up Community Toy Store.

Fridley Community Garden Planting

May 16 | 10 a.m. - Noon | Civic Campus | FREE

Come out to help plant Fridley's free edible garden at Civic Campus (7071 University Ave NE).  Produce from these garden towers is available to all, free of charge, all summer long.  We'll plant seeds and plants - no experience is necessary.  All you need to do it show up with a smile and willingness to help!

Fridley ’49er Days is made possible by the ’49er Days Committee volunteers, the Fridley Lions, Twin Cities Gateway and our sponsors.

Citywide Garage Sale

Returning Event - June 7-8, 2025

The Citywide Garage Sale will takes place in June every summer. Trash to Treasure Day is the day following the Citywide Garage Sale.

Registration for this year's sale is free and will be open May 1-31. Check back after May 1 to register your sale! 

Safety Camp

June 24 & 25, 2025 | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Civic Campus 

Join Fridley Police, Fire & Recreation to learn about good safety practices while having fun, including a behind the scenes tour of the police and fire departments! Kids will also learn from our partners from Northstar Search & Rescue, The Raptor Center, MN DNR, Allina Health, Springbrook Nature Center and more. Safety topics include fire, seat belt, animals, weather, electrical, bicycle, first aid, water & 911. All campers will participate in our end of camp graduation ceremony. Included in the registration fee is a bike helmet, t‐shirt, tote bag, and daily lunch/snacks. Registration is open to children who were enrolled in Grades 2 - 4 in the 2024-25 school year.

Our Leaders Are Readers

Summer 2025 | 10:30 a.m. | Civic Campus | FREE

Join us at the Fridley City Hall (7071 University Ave. Ne, Fridley) as our civic leaders read stories about their jobs and roles in city government. After each story, readers will take families on a behind the scenes tour of their workspaces. This program is brought to you through a partnership with the Anoka County Library, Mississippi Branch.

Bike Rodeo

Monday, June 30 | 5 - 7 p.m. | Moore Lake Park | FREE

Learn bike safety skills and enjoy an obstacle course with Fridley Public Safety! Bring your own bike and we will help properly adjust it to fit your child. Adults are asked to accompany children. Helmets are required. Register online prior to the event to receive a free helmet while supplies last! Recommended for ages 5‐12 with an adult. Afterwards, stay for our Mondays at Moore Lake concert performance of Jeff Loven.

Kids' Musical

Friday, August 8, 2025 | 10:30 a.m. | Locke Park | FREE

Kids of all ages are invited to the theater—at Locke Park! Dive into the magical world of The Little Mermaid Jr with ETC Productions as they bring Ariel's underwater adventure to life! This vibrant, fun, energizing production features all the beloved characters and unforgettable songs like “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World” in an outdoor setting that transports you straight to the ocean. Perfect for the whole family, this heartwarming show is a delightful journey full of music, fun and unforgettable moments Under the Sea! More info at: etcproductions.info. This is an outdoor performance—please bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Fridley Public Safety will be joining with a fire engine!

Touch-A-Truck

Tuesday, August 19 | 4 - 7 p.m. | Civic Campus | FREE

In partnership with Fridley Public Works and Public Safety, Touch‐A‐Truck is back! Kids of all ages can explore a variety of big trucks, lawn equipment, electric vehicles, police cars, a fire truck and more! Bouncy castles and food trucks will be onsite, and make sure to stay for the final summer concert with Jack Brass Band at 7 p.m.

Sensory Friendly Hour: From 4‐5 p.m., Touch‐A‐Truck will be sensory friendly! No loud noises, lights, sirens, etc.

Popsicles with Public Safety: Fridley Public Safety police officers and firefighters will be onsite at the Touch‐A‐Truck event handing out free popsicles (while supplies last)!


Fall

These events typically take place from September - November each year.

Pumpkin Night in the Park

Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 5-9 p.m. | Springbrook Nature Center

Join us for a magical night of over 1,000 light pumpkins illuminating the trails, costumed characters, DJ & dance, fire dancers, food trucks and more!

When: Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 5- 9 p.m.
Where: Springbrook Nature Center
Cost: $12 advance ticket sales only. No day of event tickets sold.

Calling all gourd enthusiasts! Springbrook Nature Center needs your help to carve more than 1,000 pumpkins for Pumpkin Night in the Park.

Lantern Light Hikes at Springbrook Nature Center

Returning Event | 2025-2026 | Springbrook Nature Center

Bundle up and get ready to hike at Springbrook using the light of glowing lanterns to guide your way. Listen for owls hooting, keep your eyes peeled for elusive nocturnal animals, and warm up by the fire along the way.
