Events

A variety of special events are held each year throughout the city, including the Civic Campus and Springbrook Nature Center. Search through the seasons to see what events are scheduled.

Most events are free, but a few of the events require a ticket to entry.

Typical events include Winterfest, Pumpkin Night in the Park, Environmental Fun Fair, '49er Days, a summer concert series and more.

Fall

These events typically take place from September - November each year.

Pumpkin Night in the Park

Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 5-9 p.m. | Springbrook Nature Center

Join us for a magical night of over 1,000 light pumpkins illuminating the trails, costumed characters, DJ & dance, fire dancers, food trucks and more!

When: Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 5- 9 p.m.
Where: Springbrook Nature Center
Cost: $12 advance ticket sales only. No day of event tickets sold.

Community Pumpkin Carving

Calling all gourd enthusiasts! Springbrook Nature Center needs your help to carve more than 1,000 pumpkins for Pumpkin Night in the Park.

Fridley Halloween Tour

October 15 - 31, 2025 | City of Fridley | FREE
 
Residents who decorate for Halloween can submit their address to be included on our Halloween tour map.  Residents participating in the Halloween Tour should ensure that their decorations are on display during the tour dates.

Maps will be published online and will allow your neighbors to drive by and see your decorated, spooky home! This is a fun way to share your hard work with others. Maps will be available to the public on October 15, 2025.

Register for FREE between September 1 ‐ October 8.

Houseplant Swap

Saturday, November 1, 2025 | 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. | Moore Lake Community Building | FREE

Join the Anoka County Master Gardeners for our first houseplant swap! Bring your indoor houseplants or cuttings and swap them with others. Make sure your plants are clearly labeled and in containers that you don’t need returned. Master gardeners will be present to answer questions, and it’s a great time to meet and connect with other houseplant lovers!

Turkey Bingo - All Ages

Saturday, November 22, 2025 | 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Moore Lake Community Building | FREE

All ages are welcome to join us for a fun afternoon as we play turkey bingo! We’ll have turkeys and prizes to win. After playing bingo, make sure to check out our turkey scavenger hunt in the park!

Registration required.  Will be posted in late October.

Winter

These events typically take place from December- February each year.

Winter Lights Contest

Returning Event |  December 2025 | FREE

It is time to get those lights and decorations out of storage and ready for the 2025 Winter Lights Contest! All entries will be placed on a map so that residents (and visitors﴿ can create their own custom lights tour around town. Judging will take place December 8 ‐ 9. Winners will be announced, and maps will be available on December 12. Tour maps will be available in person at City Hall and at FridleyMN.gov/Rec.

Lantern Light Hikes at Springbrook Nature Center

Returning Event | 2025-2026 | Springbrook Nature Center

Bundle up and get ready to hike at Springbrook using the light of glowing lanterns to guide your way. Listen for owls hooting, keep your eyes peeled for elusive nocturnal animals, and warm up by the fire along the way.

Environmental Fun Fair

2025 Summer Community Concerts 

Join our community for a lovely night enjoying a free summer concert in Fridley! All concerts are outside - please bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

Fridley '49er Days

Fridley ’49er Days is made possible by the ’49er Days Committee volunteers, the Fridley Lions, Twin Cities Gateway and our sponsors.

Citywide Garage Sale

Returning Event  -  Annually

The Citywide Garage Sale takes place in June every summer. Trash to Treasure Day is the day following the Citywide Garage Sale.  Visit the event page to register your sale!


Safety Camp

Returning Event | Summer 2026 | Civic Campus 

Join Fridley Police, Fire & Recreation to learn about good safety practices while having fun, including a behind the scenes tour of the police and fire departments! Kids will also learn from our partners from Northstar Search & Rescue, The Raptor Center, MN DNR, Allina Health, Springbrook Nature Center and more. Safety topics include fire, seat belt, animals, weather, electrical, bicycle, first aid, water & 911. All campers will participate in our end of camp graduation ceremony.

Look for registration to be posted in Spring of 2026 for all children who were enrolled in Grades 2-4 in the 2025-26 school year. 

Our Leaders Are Readers

Returning Event | Summer 2026 | Civic Campus | FREE

Join us at the Fridley City Hall (7071 University Ave. Ne, Fridley) as our civic leaders read stories about their jobs and roles in city government. After each story, readers will take families on a behind the scenes tour of their workspaces. This program is brought to you through a partnership with the Anoka County Library, Mississippi Branch.

Bike Rodeo

Returning Event | Summer 2026 | Moore Lake Park | FREE

Learn bike safety skills and enjoy an obstacle course with Fridley Public Safety! Bring your own bike and we will help properly adjust it to fit your child. Adults are asked to accompany children. Helmets are required. Register online prior to the event to receive a free helmet while supplies last! Recommended for ages 5‐12 with an adult.
