Sustainable Fridley Awards
Help us celebrate those making a difference in Fridley! Nominate an individual, business, youth or institution/organization for a Sustainable Fridley Award to recognize their positive impact on the environment and help making Fridley a more sustainable city.
Program Guidelines:

An individual, business, youth and institution/organization will be selected each year.

Efforts can, but are not limited to, work in energy, recycling, natural resources, etc.

Nominee/Nominator do not need to be Fridley residents, but the nominee’s efforts must have a local impact benefiting Fridley.

Highlighted efforts should be ongoing or have taken place in the past two calendar years.

Multiple submissions per nominator are allowed. Please only include one nominee/group per form.

Nominations will be accepted through September 30 of each year.

Award recipients will be selected by the City’s Environmental Quality and Energy Commission.
Award recipients will be recognized by the Fridley City Council at their first December meeting as well as in the City’s January newsletter. Please submit your nominations by September 30 at FridleyMN.gov/SustainableFridleyAwards.
Green Step City: Step 5 Achieved
For the third year in a row, the City of Fridley was recognized as a 2024 Step 4 and 5 City in the Minnesota GreenStep program at the annual League of Minnesota Cities meeting. Notable achievements in 2024 included residential water conservation, an increase in residential solar projects and reduction in energy use in City‐owned buildings.
