Meet Fridley’s New Fire Marshal: Shelby Wolf
Published on December 08, 2025
The City of Fridley is excited to welcome Shelby Wolf as our new Fire Marshal! With more than 25 years of experience in fire service, she brings a strong background in prevention, inspection, investigations and leadership.
Wolf started her fire journey when she was 14 as a Fire Explorer in Crystal and New Hope where she began her fire career. She served at several agencies early in her career including Maple Grove Fire where she was a Firefighter and Inspector. In 2003 she joined West Metro Fire where she held multiple roles including Inspector, Lieutenant, Captain and Deputy Fire Marshal. Along the way, she earned multiple fire service certifications and a degree in Fire Science.
Prevention has always been her passion. “I’ve always loved helping people and getting out into the community,” she shared. “My biggest focus is on being a good leader, prevention, teaching, mentoring and making sure firefighters and people in the community are safe.”
In this role, Wolf looks forward to mentoring staff, strengthening community partnerships and expanding outreach efforts in schools and neighborhoods. “In this role I want to provide strong leadership,” Wolf stated. “I want to demonstrate that every day I'm here to serve our staff and community.”
Outside of work, Wolf has called Delano home for 20 years with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, golfing and camping.
Please join us in welcoming Shelby to Fridley! We look forward to her leadership and the many ways she will continue to strengthen the safety of our community. Visit FridleyMN.gov/Fire to learn more about the Fire Division and its programs.
