Fridley Police Association Scholarship

The Fridley Police Association is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for students pursuing degrees in public safety-related fields!
The scholarship is intended for students at a high school located within the City of Fridley who are enrolled/or plan to enroll in a State College, University, Community College, Vocational or Technical Institute. The scholarship is also open to students who are home schooled and reside in the City of Fridley or are currently involved in other volunteer programs through the Fridley Public Safety Department, such as Explorers or Reserves. The academic emphasis of the scholarship is coursework in public safety, such as criminal justice, law enforcement, emergency medical services, community crime prevention and fire protection

Scholarship Amount: One award of $1,000 will be given
Deadline: The Fridley Police Association board will accept applications throughout the year with an application deadline of April 15, 2026. A new scholarship will be awarded by May 2026.
Selection Criteria
- Academic achievement.
- Commitment to pursuing a career in public safety.
- Quality of personal statement and recommendations.
- Awarded recipients must submit a claim within one calendar year from the date awarded with proof of a GPA equivalent to/or above a "C" average and a receipt showing proof of payment to the educational institution. The scholarship will then be issued to the student as a reimbursement check.
Application Components
- Personal Statement: Write a personal statement outlining your interest in public safety, your career goals and why you are applying for this scholarship (two-page maximum).
- Letters of Recommendation: Provide one or two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors or community members familiar with your commitment to public safety.
- Transcript: Submit your high school transcript to demonstrate academic performance.
