This project includes timely upgrades of the Apex Lift Station that was originally constructed in 1959. The existing station is a dry and wet well configuration with electrical and controls housed in adjacent cabinets. The new Apex Lift Station will be placed next to the existing lift station, and a new prefabricated building will house valves, controls, electrical componentry, and a natural gas-powered emergency back-up generator. Note that the existing lift station will remain in operation during construction of the improvements and service strategically transferred upon completion of the new lift station and forcemain. Sanitary sewer service will remain uninterrupted throughout the duration of the project. As noted, in addition to the lift station improvements, 430 lineal feet of aging 6” forcemain will be replaced which has experienced numerous emergency repairs since its original construction. The first phase of construction will begin March 9th. There may be brief disruptions in accessing Riverview Heights Park as equipment and materials are brought to the site. However, the west entrance will always remain open for entering & exiting, and the park will be available for use during construction. Additional details will be provided as the project progresses.
