The Street Rehabilitation Project No. ST2026-02 includes pavement rehabilitation improvements across approximately 1.46 miles of various segmented streets in three distinct project areas throughout the City. A map of project streets has been included below.

Current Project Updates

October 2, 2026

This week, the Contractor completed asphalt paving along Skywood Lane, 53rd Avenue, Lincoln Street, and 52nd Avenue.

Next week, the Contractor plans to install the final lift of asphalt pavement along 63rd Avenue.

Over the course of the coming weeks, the Contractor will be on site intermittently to perform minor work and address items missed during construction. During this time, project residents are encouraged to reach out to staff with any outstanding construction-related items.

Past Project Updates

September 25, 2026

This week, the Contractor adjusted existing surface utilities within the roadway on previously paved streets and milled the existing pavement on Skywood Lane, 53rd Avenue, Lincoln Street, and 52nd Avenue.

Next week, the Contractor plans to install asphalt pavement along 63rd Avenue, Skywood Lane, 53rd Avenue, Lincoln Street, and 52nd Avenue.

September 17, 2026

This week, the Contractor began adjustment of existing surface utilities within the roadway. Next week, the Contractor will continue utility adjustments and is anticipated to mill the existing pavement along Skywood Lane, 53rd Avenue, Lincoln Street and 52nd Avenue in preparation for paving.

September 11, 2026

This week, the Contractor installed the first lift of asphalt along Highway 65 East Service Road and 63rd Avenue.

Next week, the Contractor plans to adjust existing surface utilities within the roadway on streets with asphalt pavement in place. The Contractor will also be repairing a sewer main on Highway 65 East Service Road.

September 4, 2026

This week, the Contractor successfully reclaimed the existing pavement, adjusted surface utilities, and graded the roadway base along the Highway 65 East Service Road and 63rd Avenue. This work has finalized the stabilization of the road base in preparation for upcoming paving. 

Next week, the Contractor will install the first lift of asphalt pavement along Highway 65 East Service Road and 63rd Avenue, with driveway access and local traffic flow being maintained throughout.

August 31, 2026

The City’s Contractor, Park Construction Company, is anticipated to start construction activities beginning Tuesday, September 1st. The Contractor is scheduled to reclaim the existing pavement along Highway 65 East Service Road and 63rd Avenue on Tuesday.

Following the pavement reclamation, the roadway on both Highway 65 East Service Road and 63rd Avenue will be a gravel driving surface. Driveway access and local traffic flow will be maintained throughout the project.

October 13, 2025

On October 8th, an Open House was held at City Hall. Project staff had a chance to meet with residents in the project area and answer questions regarding the upcoming construction. Staff then shared a presentation with those who attended which highlighted the anticipated schedule, what to expect during construction, and how to navigate the assessment process. September 24, 2025

Invitations were recently mailed to residents and property owners within the project (ST2026-02) area. The mailing announced an upcoming open house on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, during which a presentation will be given on the project, followed by an opportunity for questions.
